The Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC produced by Azienda Agricola Villa di Corlo is born in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, an area renowned for its winemaking tradition and the particular composition of the soil, rich in clay and sands that favor the smooth and intense ripening of the grapes. This wine best expresses the Grasparossa grape variety, known for its structure and savoriness, enhanced by a vinification in which the refermentation takes place through the Charmat method, preserving freshness and liveliness. The deep ruby red color anticipates a broad and fruity bouquet, with notes of ripe cherry, raspberry, and slight hints of spice and floral tones.

On the palate it is soft but endowed with a pleasant effervescence, with balanced tannins and a nice persistence that invites drinking. Ideal paired with typical cold cuts, flavorful first courses, and white meats, it is a versatile wine that celebrates the Modena tradition with elegance and youth.

Winery history
Villa di Corlo began as an agricultural estate producing wines and, thanks to a balsamic vinegar facility located in the attics of the historic villa, also produces Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. The company website states that the estate was founded in 1998 and that it remains family-run. Over time the estate has expanded its range, focusing on locally sourced Lambrusco and red wines and emphasising the direct production of its grapes.
Production philosophy
The winery states a philosophy that combines respect for tradition with a commitment to innovation: exclusive use of grapes grown on the estate, modern technologies for the winemaking of sparkling wines, and a focus on environmental sustainability.
Terroir and vineyards
Based in Baggiovara, the vineyards are located on soils typical of the area, including clayey soils at the foot of the hills. Some vineyards are on hills at around 320 metres above sea level; product pages indicate localities such as San Venanzio di Maranello and Viano for specific vineyards.
