The main grape variety cultivated for this Marsala is Grillo, typical of the denomination, accompanied by native varieties. After fermentation, the wine undergoes a period of aging in wooden barrels, according to the classic method that Florio carefully preserves, ensuring quality and longevity for the Marsala. The 2001, being a Riserva, has matured for at least two years, developing complexity and balance between sweetness and acidity.
On the nose, it expresses intense aromas of dried fruit, honey, and spicy notes. The sip is enveloping, with a pleasant soft finish, ideal with dry pastries, aged cheeses, or as a meditation wine. A true jewel of Sicilian winemaking tradition.

Ageing
Ageing in oak casks with durations differentiated by category (e.g. Marsala Vergine at least 5 years, Vergine Riserva at least 10; Superiore at least 2 years, Superiore Riserva at least 4). Amaro della Compagnia is aged in wood for at least 18 months. The different climate‑conditioned naves on tuff floors influence organoleptic development.
