The Mezcal Reposado of Los Danzantes is born in the Oaxaca region, the beating heart of traditional mezcal production in Mexico. Made from Espadín agave, this distillate rests in wooden barrels for a minimum period of two months, an aging process that imparts complexity and smoothness to the original character of the mezcal. The volcanic soil and dry climate of the area give the agave an intense and mineral bouquet, elegantly found in smoky and slightly sweet notes, with hints of vanilla and light spices derived from aging in wood.

On the nose, earthy and smoky aromas emerge, balanced by fruity accents and notes of caramel, evoking the craft tradition that distinguishes Los Danzantes. On the palate, the structure is round and enveloping, with a persistent finish that leaves a clean and intensely aromatic aftertaste. This mezcal represents a perfect synthesis between territorial authenticity and refined craftsmanship.

Ideal to enjoy neat or in sophisticated cocktails, it pairs excellently with flavorful dishes of Mexican cuisine, such as tacos, smoked fish, or grilled meats, enhancing every bite with its unique and refined personality.

Los Danzantes is a Mexican mezcal producer based in Oaxaca. Founded around the late 1990s, it makes artisanal mezcal using traditional methods (underground ovens, tahona, natural fermentation, double distillation) and a range that includes joven, reposado, añejo and varietal expressions from different agave species.

Distillation

Double distillation in copper stills; first distillation to obtain the 'ordinario' and second to separate heads, heart and tails; use of the traditional 'venenciar' technique to evaluate cuts.

Ageing

For the aged labels: finished in barriques (225 L) with maturation times declared by the house (e.g. Reposado minimum 9 months, Añejo around 16 months), with batch-specific proportions between American oak and French oak.
