Presence of other monopoles within the estate Traditional vineyard practices and a focus on minimal intervention in the cellar.
Winery history
The site is an ancient wine estate mentioned as early as the Middle Ages: the Clos del Moulin aux Moines is associated with the monks of the Abbey of Cluny and later with the Abbey of Cîteaux. Over the centuries the property changed hands several times; the Andrieu family is recorded as the controlling owner since their acquisition in 2008, during which the estate was renovated and relaunched.
Production philosophy
The estate favors a low-intervention approach to showcase the character of the terroir: organic and biodynamic cultivation applied to the entire vineyard, manual harvesting, limited use of winemaking technologies, and some low-sulfite winemaking experiments for the alternative cuvées.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated in the Côte de Beaune, between the communes of Auxey-Duresses and Meursault. The emblematic monopole is a clos protected by a stone wall with red clay and limestone soils, situated in a low-lying position watered by a local stream. Other vineyard holdings include parcels in Pommard, Pernand-Vergelesses, Saint-Romain and Corpeau.
