Roggiano is a Tuscan wine made from Sangiovese grapes to which a small percentage of Ciliegiolo is added. The vinification involves maceration at a controlled temperature of 35°C for 12 hours, followed by controlled fermentation at a maximum of 27°C, ending with racking after 7 days of fermentation with the skins. This is followed by refinement on the fine lees until the malolactic fermentation takes place and further refinement in the bottle for at least 3 months before being put on the market.

Of ruby red color, Roggiano expresses ample aromas to the nose marked by aromas of ripe fruit and spices. The sip amazes round and balanced, enjoyable to the fullest.

It is recommended to combine it with appetizers of cured meats, savory first courses, roasts and grilled red meats.

Winery history
Founded as a cooperative in 1972 by a group of local producers, the winery gradually developed while maintaining a territorial focus: from the decision to prioritize quality over quantity in the 1980s to growing to more than one hundred members and modernizing its facilities. In recent years the winery has strengthened its presence on national and international markets and renovated its production areas and wine‑tourism hospitality spaces.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to faithfully represent the terroir through its work in the vineyard: shared rules for members, grape traceability, and quality premiums for suppliers. Its commitment includes sustainable practices, reducing environmental impact, and research and innovation projects in collaboration with academic institutions.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards stretch across the hills surrounding Scansano, in the Tuscan Maremma, in an area between the Ombrone and Albegna rivers and extending in some parts toward Monte Amiata and Pitigliano. The vines occupy varied soils at typical elevations of 150–300 metres above sea level, which contribute to the range of expressions of Morellino and the other wines.
Awards and recognitions
Numerous international awards in recent years: medals and high scores awarded by competitions and guides such as AWC Vienna, Mundus Vini, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Decanter, IWSC, The Global Sangiovese Masters, Falstaff and James Suckling.
