The Pinot Gris Alsace of Maison Klipfel is an elegant and refined example of this historic Alsace designation, a region renowned for its ability to best express white grape varieties. This wine is made from Pinot Gris grapes, known for their structure and complexity, which in this context are particularly rich and velvety.

In the glass, it appears with a bright golden color, while on the nose it offers intense aromas of ripe fruit, such as peach and apricot, accompanied by pleasant spicy notes and a delicate minerality. On the palate, it shows a surprising harmony between freshness and softness, with a persistent finish that highlights its personality. The aging, which often takes place in steel or wood to preserve tactile balance, ensures a enveloping and smooth taste progression.

Perfect paired with fish dishes, white meats, or aged cheeses, the Pinot Gris Alsace of Maison Klipfel embodies the Alsatian winemaking tradition with modern elegance.

Winery history
Founded by the Klipfel family, the Maison has records dating back to the 19th century and over the decades developed both its vineyard cultivation and a commercial business. Over the years the estate acquired the renowned Clos Zisser and, from the 20th century onward, became known for producing late-harvest wines and selections of noble grapes. During the 20th century André Lorentz gave the Maison new commercial momentum; more recently management passed to a family of winegrowers.
Production philosophy
An approach focused on maximizing the value of individual Alsatian terroirs: showcasing Grand Cru sites and typical grape varieties through winemaking practices that respect each site's identity, with a production that includes both still wines and Crémant, and some oak ageing for Pinot Noir.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is based in Barr, in Alsace. It cultivates and produces wine from recognized crus such as the Kirchberg de Barr, the Kastelberg and the Wiebelsberg; the famous Clos Zisser is part of the Maison’s heritage. The soils described include marls and limestones on the Kirchberg and schists on the Kastelberg, with favourable exposures that shape the wines’ minerality.
