Romagna Sangiovese DOC - Dal Fiume is a true expression of the terroir of Romagna, a region with a deep winemaking tradition in central Italy. The Dal Fiume winery, renowned for its dedication to quality and for using vinification methods that enhance varietal characteristics, presents this Sangiovese in a genuinely territorial guise.

This wine stands out for its brilliant ruby red color, with reflections that tend toward violet as the wine matures. On the nose, Romagna Sangiovese DOC offers an intense and complex olfactory range, with notes of cherry, plum, and a slight spiciness reminiscent of black pepper and tobacco. The judicious use of wood during maturation enriches the bouquet without overshadowing the fruit.

On the palate, the wine is structured and balanced. The typical acidity of Sangiovese harmoniously combines with soft and well-integrated tannins, contributing to a full and enveloping sip. The finish is persistent, with a pleasant return of the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose.

Romagna Sangiovese DOC - Dal Fiume best expresses the qualities of the Sangiovese varietal, making it suitable for pairing with robust Italian dishes, such as pasta with ragù, grilled red meats, and aged cheeses. Its versatility also makes it an excellent companion for convivial evenings or informal meals.

It is advisable to serve this wine at a temperature of about 18°C to enhance all its qualities. The aging potential, typical of well-made Sangiovese, suggests that this wine can also be stored for several years, further developing complexity and harmony.

Winery history
The Dalfiume family entered the wine world in 1949 with Odoardo Dalfiume in Bologna. In the following years the business moved and consolidated around Castel San Pietro Terme: in 1975 a cellar in the area was acquired and, in the 1990s, the family developed the Tenuta Poggiolo, transforming it into the centre of the estate's production. Today management has passed to the third generation, which continues commercial development and the care of the winery's viticultural and winemaking heritage.
Production philosophy
Production focused on the connection between territory and tradition, with attention to product quality and consistency; the winery offers both limited-production lines dedicated to excellence and wines designed for broader distribution, emphasizing sustainability and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and principal estate are located in Castel San Pietro Terme. The wines belong to appellations and areas of Emilia-Romagna, and the range also includes Prosecco DOP Treviso, reflecting supply and production relationships that extend beyond the province of Bologna.
