The Natural Sweet Red Pedro Ximenez produced by the renowned Hidalgo winery is a wine capturing the essence of Spanish winemaking tradition, offering a unique expression of the Pedro Ximenez varietal. This wine stands out with its intense, almost ebony color, and aromatic complexity that seduces both the nose and the palate.

Upon tasting, it reveals an incredible richness, bringing forth notes of ripe fruit such as dried figs, plums, and raisins, masterfully blended with hints of chocolate, coffee, and sweet spices like cinnamon and clove. The texture is luxuriously velvety, with a perfect balance between natural sweetness and refined acidity that entices another sip.

Aging in oak barrels allows the Natural Sweet Red Pedro Ximenez to acquire a more complex structure, enriched with vanilla tones and a light toasted note that harmonizes beautifully with the fruit. This process also gives the wine an incredible persistence in the finish, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.

Perfect as a meditation wine, this Natural Sweet Red pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts, blue cheeses, or as a regal end to a meal. It is also surprising when served slightly chilled, offering a refreshing contrast to its intrinsic sweetness.

Serving it in broad glasses at a temperature of about 14-16°C enhances all its complex aromas and flavors, making the Natural Sweet Red Pedro Ximenez by Hidalgo a favored choice for connoisseurs and lovers of structured sweet wines.

Winery history
Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo is a family-owned winery with roots in the 19th century, established in the historic center of Jerez de la Frontera. The Hidalgo family has maintained and expanded the original solera stocks of wine and brandy; in the 20th century the house consolidated its commercial operations and expanded exports. Today the winery is managed by descendants of the family who preserve the historic soleras and traditional aging practices.
Production philosophy
Preserving the legacy of the Marco de Jerez and working without contemporary shortcuts: an extended period in solera, respect for the stages of biological and oxidative aging, and selection of the finest casks to preserve the bodega’s classic style and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in the historic heart of Jerez de la Frontera. Some of the winery's flagship wines come from traditional vineyards of the Marco, and the architectural features of the buildings promote preservation and aging according to the system of criaderas y soleras; for wines such as Villapanés the connection with the albariza soils typical of the area is often cited.
