The Salento Primitivo Rosso IGP "Rifugio" by Conti Zecca is a wine that embodies the passion and dedication for the Primitivo grape, an icon of Apulian viticulture, known for its ability to give life to wines of great body, structure and intensity aromatic. This label reflects Conti Zecca's ability to produce wines that enhance the characteristics of the Salento area, combining tradition and innovation to obtain high-level wine expressions.

The "Rifugio" is born from a careful selection of Primitivo grapes, grown in the warm and sunny lands of Salento, where the Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot summers and mild winters, and the rich and deep soils favor the optimal ripening of the grapes. These climatic and pedological conditions allow us to obtain concentrated grapes, with an excellent aromatic intensity and a natural balance of acidity and sugars, ideal for the production of quality red wines.

The vinification of "Rifugio" Primitivo Rosso PGI involves controlled fermentation, followed by refinement that varies depending on the vintage, to harmoniously integrate the varietal characteristics with the complexity given by the wood. This process allows us to obtain a wine that best expresses the typicality of Primitivo, with a richness and depth that make it immediately recognizable and appreciated.

Visually, the "Rifugio" presents itself with an intense and brilliant ruby red color, which announces its structure and richness. On the nose, the wine offers a complex and inviting aromatic profile, dominated by notes of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and plums, enriched by nuances of sweet spices, chocolate and a light note of vanilla, the result of aging in wood.

In the mouth, the "Rifugio" demonstrates notable concentration and body, with soft and well-integrated tannins that support a rich and enveloping structure. The balance between acidity and the natural sweetness of the fruit gives freshness and liveliness to the wine, leading towards a long and persistent finish, with a pleasant return of the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose.

Ideal in combination with rich and savory dishes of Mediterranean cuisine, such as roast meats, lamb-based dishes, mature cheeses and pasta with intense sauces, the Salento Primitivo Rosso IGP "Rifugio" by Conti Zecca is an excellent choice for those looking for a a wine that combines the expressive strength of Primitivo with an elegance and pleasantness of drinking that invite sharing and the pleasure of the table.
