The Sauvignon Friuli Grave DOC by "I Magredi" is a white wine that splendidly reflects the unique terroir of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. This wine is particularly known for its liveliness and freshness, paired with a distinctive aromatic profile. Elegant and sophisticated, it offers intense aromas of tropical fruits, white peach, and herbaceous notes, notably reminiscent of green pepper and arugula, typical of the Sauvignon Blanc varietal.

On the palate, the Sauvignon Friuli Grave DOC "I Magredi" exhibits a harmonious balance between acidity and fruitiness. The aromatic sensations are confirmed in taste, complemented by a pleasant minerality that leads to a long and persistent finish. The texture is soft yet vibrant, a distinctive sign attributed to its meticulous vinification process.

The vinification of the Sauvignon "I Magredi" takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve the integrity and freshness of the varietal aromas. The maturation period in the tank before bottling further integrates the flavors and tactile sensations.

Ideal as an aperitif, this Sauvignon pairs magnificently with fish dishes, seafood, and is excellent with fresh cheeses and light vegetarian dishes. It is a perfect choice for those who appreciate white wines with character that maintain elegance and complexity.

We recommend serving the Sauvignon Friuli Grave DOC "I Magredi" slightly chilled, at a temperature of around 10-12°C, to best highlight its organoleptic qualities.

Selection of wines: aromatic whites, native reds and sparkling wines Declared sustainability practices: photovoltaic system and phytodepuration of water A family story that began with the purchase in 1968 and the winery's development since the 1990s. Full acquisition by Valdo Spumanti announced in March 2026.
Winery history
The estate has long been linked to the Tombacco family: Otello Tombacco purchased it in 1968 and, in the late 1980s, Michelangelo Tombacco converted the mainly fruit-growing enterprise into a fully fledged winery. The first part of the cellar was constructed in 1990, and the facilities were expanded and modernized several times; since 2018 the site has been undertaking a project for a new production building. In March 2026 the estate was returned to the full control of Valdo Spumanti, which had already held a stake since 2018.
Production philosophy
The winery adopts an approach that combines tradition and innovation: a focus on quality, respect for the land and attention to environmental sustainability. In the vineyard, integrated pest management protocols are applied, and the company has invested in systems for energy production and in winery wastewater treatment.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Grave del Friuli, characterized by coarse alluvial soils and wide stretches of pebbles known as 'magredi'. This terroir, protected in many areas as a Special Area of Conservation, fosters pronounced diurnal temperature variation and the aromatic grapes typical of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
