The Sauvignon Isonzo from Tenuta Luisa is a magnificent expression of Sauvignon Blanc grown in the Friuli Venezia Giulia area, specifically in the Isonzo zone, recognized for its gravelly soils which impart minerality and freshness to the wines. This wine is the result of meticulous vinification, starting with the manual harvesting of grapes, followed by cold maceration to enhance varietal aromas and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
Visually, the Sauvignon Isonzo presents a bright straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals a rich and complex bouquet, typical of Sauvignon Blanc, with notes of tropical fruits such as maracuja, accents of white peach, and hints of aromatic herbs like basil and green tea.
On the palate, the wine exhibits extraordinary freshness and minerality. The attack is lively, well balanced by a good acidic structure that continues into a persistent and pleasantly aromatic finish. Flavors of citrus and white flesh fruits blend with a light vegetal hint, typical of the grape variety, adding complexity to the sip.
Ideal as an aperitif, the Sauvignon Isonzo from Tenuta Luisa pairs beautifully with fish dishes, seafood, and fresh cheeses. It is also an excellent accompaniment to spicy Asian dishes and sushi, thanks to its ability to balance intense and spicy flavors.
In summary, this Sauvignon Isonzo offers a refreshing and invigorating sip that captures the essence of the Friuli terroir, making it a must-try wine for lovers of this noble grape variety.

The story
A family history that began with the purchase of the first plots by Francesco Luisa in the early 20th century. The estate has grown over several generations with documented milestones: expansion of the vineyards, construction of a new winery in the 1990s, and the launch of premium lines such as "I Ferretti" and "Millésimée". The estate's website records the first purchase of 5 hectares in 1907 and progressive growth to more than 100 hectares today.
Production philosophy
Vineyard-to-glass approach: quality that originates in the vineyard through low yields, high planting density and targeted treatments. In the winery, intervention is limited and aging is carefully managed for the selections. The winery also declares a commitment to environmental sustainability, with practices that have received recognitions and certifications as noted in the sources.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located on the plain between Collio and Carso, within the DOC Friuli Isonzo. Soils consist of mixed gravel and decalcified limestone with clayey sections. Approximate elevation 35–50 m above sea level. The climate is influenced by the Bora and Scirocco, with diurnal temperature variations that favour aromatic ripening.
Awards and recognition
Numerous national and international recognitions: among the highlighted awards are Tre Bicchieri for certain vintages of the "I Ferretti" selection, medals at international competitions, and various scores from guides and critics.
