Maculan's Vespaiolo DOC is a white wine that captures the essence of the Vespaiola vine, native to the Breganze area in the Veneto. This wine bears the name of the vine from which it is produced, known for its ability to express freshness and aroma, characteristics that make it distinctive and highly appreciated. The Maculan winery, one of the most established and respected in the region, dedicates particular attention to the production of this wine, taking care of every phase of the production process to guarantee maximum varietal and territorial expression.

The vinification of Vespaiolo DOC involves manual harvesting of the grapes at the optimal moment of ripeness, followed by delicate pressing and fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. This method allows you to preserve the primary aromas of the vine, emphasizing its fruity and floral notes. In some cases, Maculan may choose to refine the wine briefly on the lees, to add complexity and structure to the flavor profile.

Visually, Vespaiolo DOC has a light and brilliant straw yellow color. On the nose, it offers an intensely aromatic and inviting bouquet, with aromas of white flowers, notes of citrus fruits, in particular lemon and cedar, and accents of white pulp fruit, such as apple and pear. These olfactory sensations are enriched by a light mineral vein, which adds elegance and depth to the wine.

In the mouth, Vespaiolo di Maculan reveals itself to be fresh and lively, with a well-balanced acidity that supports its structure and enhances its fruity flavours. The texture is soft and pleasantly harmonious, with a long and clean finish that leaves a sensation of freshness and persistent satisfaction.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with light appetizers, fish and seafood dishes, grilled vegetables or fresh cheeses, Maculan's Vespaiolo DOC is an excellent choice for lovers of aromatic and fresh white wines, who are looking for an experience tasting capable of expressing the typicality and elegance of the Vespaiola vine in all its purity and refinement.

Winery history
The winery originated from the Maculan family's winemaking activities in Breganze. The current estate was developed from the business founded by grandfather Giovanni Maculan in 1947. In the 1970s Fausto Maculan led a qualitative transformation of the estate, elevating local wines such as Torcolato and expanding the portfolio with modern expressions of red and white wines. Today management also involves his daughters, continuing a path that combines local tradition with winemaking innovation.
Production philosophy
The winemaking approach combines respect for the territory with experimentation: meticulous care in the vineyard and the cellar, revival of local traditions and attention to modern techniques. The estate emphasizes the identity of Breganze grapes while also using international varieties for a wide range of wine styles.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the DOC Breganze area, on the hills at the foot of the Altopiano di Asiago. The area is characterized by microclimates favorable to ripening and by hillside aspects that influence production, particularly of passito wines made from Vespaiola.
