The Villaggio DOC Rocca D'Orcia by Podere Forte is a refined expression of the Val d'Orcia region, an area historically recognized for producing excellent wines in Tuscany. This wine stands out due to its predominantly Sangiovese grape composition, which gives the wine a favorably robust structure and a pleasant aromatic persistence.

The meticulous care in the selection of grapes and vinification techniques adopted by Podere Forte is magnificently reflected in this wine. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers at controlled temperatures, followed by refinement in French oak barriques, enriching the wine with complexity and vanilla tones without overwhelming the original freshness of the fruit.

Visually, the Villaggio DOC Rocca D'Orcia displays a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it emanates intense aromas of ripe red fruits, spicy notes, and a slight hint of tobacco that adds an intriguing dimension. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced with soft tannins and a freshness that echoes the mineral characteristics of its terroir. The tasting experience concludes with a persistent and harmonious finish.

Ideal for pairing with elaborate red meat dishes, aged cheeses, or enjoyed on its own, this wine is best served at a temperature of 18-20°C. Perfect for those seeking a wine that can age well, it is recommended to let it rest for a few years to appreciate its evolution.

The Villaggio DOC Rocca D'Orcia by Podere Forte is undoubtedly an excellent representation of Tuscan mastery in producing wines of character and longevity, capable of satisfying the most discerning palates.

Winery history
Podere Forte was founded as an agricultural project led by Pasquale Forte and developed around the idea of a self-sufficient estate. The estate, operating since 1997, has re-created an integrated farm in the Val d’Orcia where viticulture, olive growing, beekeeping and livestock farming coexist, following organic and biodynamic practices.
Production philosophy
The estate is managed according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, with attention to soil health, production autonomy and the enhancement of local resources. The approach combines traditional techniques with precision tools in a system called "Sistema Forte," aimed at environmental and social sustainability.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in the Val d’Orcia, a landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the vineyards are planted on soils rich in schist and clay at varying elevations, which favor typical expressions of Sangiovese and Bordeaux-style blends. The estate also has extensive olive groves and large areas of agricultural land.
