The Viognier of Casale Del Giglio is born in the heart of Lazio, a land capable of enhancing the characteristics of this aromatic grape variety originating from the Rhone Valley. Cultivated with care in the company’s selected vineyards, the Viognier offers a refined and enveloping sensory experience.

In the glass, it presents a bright straw yellow color, while on the nose it releases intense notes of white flowers, apricot, and peach, accompanied by elegant hints of sweet spices and honey. The palate is enveloping, soft, and velvety, with balanced volume and a pleasant freshness that balances its fragrant structure.

The aging in steel preserves the freshness and aromatic purity, making this Viognier perfect as a companion to delicate appetizers, fish-based dishes, and fresh cheeses. A wine that best expresses the potential of the Lazio territory through the elegance of this grape variety.

Strong commitment to varietal experimentation. Recovery and promotion of Lazio's native grape varieties. Vineyards are also located on the Pontine Islands for special productions. Varied selection: white, rosé and red wines, passito wines, grappa and oil. Cultural activities and an archaeological project related to the territory.
Winery history
The estate is tied to the Santarelli family, whose entrepreneurial roots go back to the original family firm. The Casale del Giglio winery was founded as an independent entity in the Le Ferriere area and has, over the decades, established a program of varietal research and experimentation involving dozens of grape varieties. In recent decades the company has recovered and relaunched local varieties and has complemented its winemaking with cultural and archaeological initiatives linked to the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery adopts an applied research approach, prioritizing quality in areas not yet fully valued, with attention to agronomic sustainability and the rediscovery of indigenous grape varieties, combined with modern production and commercial management.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Tyrrhenian hinterland of the Agro Pontino, at the foot of the Monti Lepini and under the moderating influence of sea breezes. The estate also manages small terraced vineyards on Ponza for the production of Biancolella. The area is characterised by mild climates, maritime breezes and soils that favour both international varieties and local indigenous varieties.
Awards and recognitions
Numerous national and international awards. Among the recent recognitions announced by the winery: a Gold Medal for the Chardonnay and a Silver Medal for the Sauvignon, as well as mentions and positive scores in guides and from specialist critics.
