Storia della cantina M. Chapoutier

La famiglia Chapoutier è presente nella Vallée du Rhône da inizio XIX secolo; la tradizione riferisce al 1808 come data di inizio della presenza familiare nella regione. L'attività vitivinicola si è sviluppata nel tempo e ha visto una svolta con Michel Chapoutier, la cui guida dagli anni '80/'90 ha ampliato la reputazione internazionale della Maison e introdotto pratiche agronomiche orientate alla biodinamica e alla valorizzazione dei singoli cru.

Filosofia produttiva

La Maison privilegia l'espressione del territorio attraverso selezioni parcellaire, pratiche a basso intervento in cantina e la gestione dei vigneti secondo principi organici e biodinamici. Alla filosofia di rispetto del suolo si affianca una forte attenzione all'accessibilità e alla trasparenza sull'origine dei vini.

Territorio e vigneti

Sede a Tain-l'Hermitage, la produzione è concentrata nella Valle del Rodano con presenza significativa nelle denominazioni Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Côte-Rôtie, Cornas e Châteauneuf-du-Pape; la Maison ha inoltre progetti e collaborazioni viticole in altre regioni e paesi.
