Sicilian winery based in Marsala with production also on Pantelleria, renowned for reviving historic Marsala (Vecchio Samperi) and for the Bukkuram passito wines. It primarily works with indigenous grape varieties such as Grillo and Zibibbo.
Marco De Bartoli has been central to the revival of Marsala and the promotion of Sicily’s indigenous grape varieties. From a family of Marsala winegrowers, he revived traditional methods and artisanal practices to produce historic-style Marsala and also developed a distinctive production in Pantelleria with the Bukkuram project. Today the estate continues with family members carrying on its legacy and historic lines.
