In the heart of Romagna, the Poggio della Dogana winery presents us with a superior example of Sangiovese through its "Sangiovese Sup. di Rom. Castrocaro DOC - Santa Reparata". This wine represents a very fine expression of the Sangiovese grape, grown in the renowned lands of Castrocaro, where the unique microclimate and rich soil impart distinctive characteristics to the grapes.

Aging in barrels for over a year enhances the robust and complex structure of this wine, which reveals itself in the glass with a deep and inviting ruby red color. On the nose, it opens with vigorous notes of ripe red fruits, including blackberry and cherry, intertwined with spicy hints of black pepper and a light touch of vanilla derived from the wood.

On the palate, the Sangiovese Sup. di Rom. Castrocaro displays perfect harmony between acidity and tannins, resulting in a balanced and elegant wine. The taste persistence is remarkable, with a long finish that returns to the spicy and fruity tones, enriched by a slight balsamic note.

This wine beautifully accompanies dishes from the traditional Romagnola cuisine, such as tagliatelle with ragù or grilled red meats, but it is also an excellent partner for aged cheeses. Ideally served at a temperature of 18°C, the Sangiovese Sup. di Rom. Castrocaro from Poggio della Dogana promises to elevate any table with its decisive character and authentically Romagnolo flair.
