The Valpolicella Superiore - Campo Lavei DOC - MAGNUM - Cà Rugate is a robust red wine, produced in the renowned wine region of Veneto. This excellent bottle from the Cà Rugate winery embodies the quintessence of the terroir from one of the most prestigious areas for Valpolicella production.

The "Campo Lavei" is a Valpolicella Superiore, which means the wine has undergone a longer refinement process and has a higher alcohol content compared to regular Valpolicella. This 1.5-liter MAGNUM is ideal for special occasions, ensuring a more uniform evolution of the wine due to its greater volume.

The wine has an intense and deep ruby red color. On the nose, the aromas are complex and seductive, with notes of ripe berries such as cherries and blackberries, enhanced by nuances of sweet spices and a slight vanilla touch, a result of aging in wood. On the palate, Campo Lavei shows a robust yet balanced structure, with well-integrated tannins and a lively freshness that leads to a persistent and harmonious finish.

Ideal to accompany classic Italian dishes like mushroom risottos, pasta with meat sauce, and grilled red meats, the Valpolicella Superiore - Campo Lavei DOC by Cà Rugate is also a wine that can be enjoyed on its own, as a meditation, due to its rich complexity.

This wine represents an excellent choice for those wishing to explore the depth and elegance of Veneto reds, offering an unforgettable tasting experience and a pleasant longevity that will beautifully develop over the coming years.

Winery history
The Tessari family has been cultivating vineyards in the area for over a century; the Ca' Rugate label first appeared on bottles in 1986. In 2001 Michele Tessari, the fourth generation of the family, launched a project to reorganize the estate and expand the vineyards, and the new winery in Montecchia di Crosara was inaugurated in 2002. Over the years the estate has developed wine‑tourism activities and created a wine museum to tell the family's agricultural history.
Production philosophy
Quality that begins in the vineyard is a priority: sustainable management and low-impact practices to enhance native varieties and the expression of the terroir. Since 2004 the estate has adopted more sustainable agronomic methods and demonstrates a commitment to traceability and preserving the local character. Since 2013 it has been part of Indipendenti del Soave.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are situated on the hills of Val d'Alpone and on land well suited to Soave Classico, Valpolicella and Lessini Durello. The soils have a volcanic and calcareous‑basaltic composition typical of the Soave area; some parcels lie on ridges and terraces with steep slopes and average elevations of around 400–450 meters above sea level.
Awards and recognitions
Numerous national and international awards, including several 'Tre Bicchieri' from the Gambero Rosso guide for the winery's wines, and medals/recognitions at international competitions also dedicated to mountain and heroic wines.
