The Ice Wine Transylvanian Liliac & Kracher is an oenological gem produced in collaboration between the Romanian winery Liliac and the renowned Austrian house Kracher. This wine is crafted from grapes harvested in the heart of Transylvania, meticulously selected and picked only after the first winter frosts. This process concentrates the sugars and aromas within the fruit, imparting the wine with unique intensity and sweetness.

In the 375ml format, the Ice Wine Transylvanian shines with a light golden, almost crystalline color, heralding its excellent organoleptic qualities. The aroma is intoxicating, with dominant notes of candied fruit, acacia honey, and subtle hints of citrus delicately revealing themselves. On the palate, the sweetness is well balanced by a fresh acidity. The flavors evoke apricot jam, ripe pears, and touches of vanilla, with a long persistence that leaves a pleasantly aromatic aftertaste.

This wine is particularly appreciated as an accompaniment to desserts, blue cheeses, or foie gras, but it can also serve as an elegant centerpiece for a special toast or a moment of contemplation. When stored in appropriate conditions, it has significant aging potential, evolving in complexity and nuance.

In summary, the Ice Wine Transylvanian Liliac & Kracher is a rare gem for sweet wine enthusiasts, perfect for enriching special occasions with an exclusive note of sweetness.

Library Release: selections cellared for many years and released in designated vintages as collector's bottles. Vineyards in Seewinkel's unique microclimate, near the Neusiedlersee.
Winery history
Kracher is a family-owned business with three generations involved in viticulture in the Seewinkel. The name became internationally renowned especially thanks to the innovative work of Alois Kracher, who in the 1990s revived and redefined Austrian sweet wines; today management is entrusted to Gerhard Kracher, who assumed operational leadership in the mid-2000s.
Production philosophy
The estate aims to express the terroir through sweet wines of great finesse and balance: winemaking practices favor fruit expression, elegance and mineral tension rather than mere sugar concentration. For some selections aging in wood is emphasized, while others are kept fresher with extended lees contact or in large vessels.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Seewinkel area, between Illmitz and the shores of Lake Neusiedl. The Pannonian microclimate, characterized by autumn mists and warm, humid conditions favorable to the development of Botrytis cinerea, is essential for the production of the sweet wines typical of the estate.
Awards and recognitions
Significant international recognition: a recent example reported that three Trockenbeerenauslesen were awarded 100 points by The Wine Advocate. The winery is often cited as one of the benchmark producers for Austrian sweet wines.
