The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Superiore DOC "Spelt" Oro by La Valentina is a superior and refined expression of Trebbiano, one of the most representative white vines of Abruzzo. This "Gold" label marks a further level of excellence in the range of wines produced by La Valentina, a winery that is committed to enhancing native vines through sustainable agricultural practices and careful work in the cellar, in order to best express the identity and the richness of the Abruzzo territory.

The "Spelt" Oro is selected from Trebbiano grapes grown in particularly suitable vineyards, where the interaction between microclimate, exposure and soil composition allows for high quality grapes to be obtained, characterized by a notable aromatic intensity and a good structure. Winemaking is aimed at preserving these qualities, with controlled temperature fermentation followed by a period of refinement which, depending on the vintage, can include partial or total maturation in barrique, enriching the wine with further nuances and complexity.

Visually, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Superiore "Spelt" Oro has an intense golden yellow color, which anticipates its richness and concentration. On the nose, complex and articulated aromas stand out, with notes of ripe white pulp fruit, such as peach and apricot, enriched by nuances of white flowers, honey, vanilla and a light toasted touch, the result of the elegant passage in wood.

In the mouth, the wine reveals an extraordinary harmony between aromatic intensity and freshness, with an impeccable balance supported by good acidity that guides the tasting towards a long and persistent finish. The fruity flavors and slightly spicy notes intertwine in a rich and enveloping flavor texture, which confirms the complexity and elegance perceived on the nose.

Winery history
La Valentina was founded in 1990 in the hills near Pescara; since 1994 the estate has been run by the brothers Sabatino, Roberto and Andrea Di Properzio. Over the years the estate has worked to enhance the local terroirs and improve quality with an approach increasingly attentive to the vineyard's biological balance.
Production philosophy
The company states an approach that prioritizes respect for the terroir, the reduction of chemical interventions and environmental sustainability; the goal is to produce wines that are "healthier and more authentic" by intervening as little as possible in natural processes and adopting responsible agricultural and business practices.
Terroir and vineyards
