The Pecorino Terre di Chieti IGT "Tratturo" by Cantine Spinelli is a white wine that elegantly evokes the unique characteristics of the Pecorino grape, indigenous to Abruzzo. This wine comes from vineyards located in privileged positions, where the calcareous soil and Mediterranean climate allow the Pecorino to best express its typicality and complexity.
On the nose, "Tratturo" presents an intensely aromatic bouquet, where notes of white flowers, white-fleshed fruits such as pear, and slight citrus hints that confer freshness stand out. This is enriched by a subtle mineral vein, typical of this terroir.
On the palate, the wine demonstrates great structure and balance. The entry is soft, followed by a pleasant acidity that enhances its freshness. The flavors are consistent with the olfactory promises, with additions of nuances of aromatic herbs and a light almond aftertaste that lingers in the finish.
As it ages, this wine tends to acquire more complex notes and nuances that lean towards quince and nutmeg, further enriching the tasting experience.
"Tratturo" is an excellent example of how the Pecorino grape can be interpreted to achieve a high-quality profile, making it suitable to accompany elaborate fish dishes, seafood, and fresh cheeses. It is advisable to serve it at a temperature of about 10-12°C to appreciate all its nuances.
