Winery history Coppo

Le Cantine Coppo was established in Canelli and has documented roots dating back to 1892; the winery has remained a point of reference for Piedmontese viticulture and for the development of local sparkling wine production. The historic underground cellars are part of the winery's identity and have been recognised as a significant heritage linked to the area's wine landscape.

Production philosophy

Production focused on quality and elegance: wines that prioritize finesse and expression of the terroir rather than extreme power. The estate combines traditional methods and modern techniques, with careful grape selection and ageing, for both still wines and traditional method sparkling wines.

Terroir and vineyards

The winery is headquartered in Canelli. The main vineyards are located between the Alto Monferrato astigiano and the Langhe; Coppo also manages Tenuta La Rocca. The winery reports a total vineyard area of approximately 85 hectares.

Awards and recognitions

The historic underground cathedrals are recognized within the UNESCO-designated wine landscape of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato; Pomorosso is among the producer’s most recognized labels, with repeated mentions and recognitions in the specialist press.
