Winery history Daubanton & Fils

Monique and Jean-Jacques Daubanton planted their first vines in Rizaucourt in 1982; the first bottle was released in 1990. The estate is family-run with the involvement of their children, and since 2012 it has had its own winemaking facilities, where secondary fermentation and ageing take place in its own barrels and tanks.

Production philosophy

Artisanal, terroir-driven approach: production is mainly family-run, grapes are hand-harvested, vineyard management is oriented toward environmental respect, and winemaking methods are adapted to each terroir to enhance structure and complexity.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards located in the southern part of the Champagne region, in the Côte des Bar; the estate works vineyard parcels in the communes of Rizaucourt, Argentolles and Dolancourt, part of the Haut-Marnais vineyard.
