This Aglianico Sannio DOC from La Guardiense presents a profile typical of the grape: intense ruby color and notes recalling red and dark fruits, subtle floral hints and a spicy, herbal trace. On the nose there are impressions of ripe cherry, plum and a fine note of black pepper. On the palate it shows structure and lively acidity that balance present but not excessive tannins, offering an overall sense of compactness and persistence without overstatement. It is restrained in style, suitable for those seeking a characterful red without affectation.

In the kitchen it pairs with roasted or braised meat dishes, meat ragù and aged or semi-aged cheeses; it can also be matched with tomato-based preparations with pronounced savoriness. It is recommended to serve it at a moderate temperature (around 16–18 °C) and, if desired, to let it breathe briefly before tasting to highlight the aromas. It is best appreciated in a wide glass. It is an everyday option and at the same time appropriate for convivial occasions.
