Santi's Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG "Santico - Cassa di Legno e Velina" is a wine that embodies the essence and tradition of Valpolicella, one of the most renowned and historic wine areas in Italy. Presented in a wooden case and wrapped in tissue paper, this Amarone is a tribute to the elegance and attention to detail that characterize the Santi winery.

Visually, it presents an intense garnet red color, a sign of its maturity and richness. On the nose, it offers a complex and seductive bouquet, with aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, accompanied by notes of spices, chocolate, vanilla and a light touch of wood, the result of careful barrel maturation.

On the palate, this Amarone della Valpolicella reveals a full and enveloping structure. The tannins are present but velvety, the acidity is balanced and supports a palate rich in flavors of ripe fruit, chocolate and spices. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant complexity that invites a slow and thoughtful tasting.

This wine is ideal for accompanying intense and rich dishes, such as red meats, stews, game and mature cheeses. It is also a perfect meditation wine, to be enjoyed in special moments, where the wine itself becomes an experience to celebrate.

Winery history
Cantina Santi was founded as a winery in Illasi and has been present in Valpolicella since the 19th century. During the 20th century the Santi family introduced technical innovations and progressively focused on high-end wines; in 1974 the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which reinforced investments and facilities while preserving its local identity.
Production philosophy
Santi claims a style tied to the sense of place of Valpolicella: it favors the predominant use of Corvina in its selections, aging in large traditional casks, and the use of local woods to enhance the aromatic qualities typical of native grape varieties. The approach combines oenological research with respect for local practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Santi's vineyards and selections are concentrated in Val d'Illasi and the classic areas of Valpolicella, using a vineyard-selection approach across different exposures and microclimates to produce wines that reflect the local terroir. The winery also works with vineyards in other Veronese appellations such as Soave, Bardolino and Lugana.
