The Blanc de Castel di Schloss Englar is a white wine born from the encounter between the pure expression of native grape varieties and the uncontaminated territory of the Vigneti delle Dolomiti, a dedicated area characterized by high altitudes and a cool climate. This IGT reflects the particular minerality and freshness typical of this area, marked by alpine breezes and sunny growing days that enhance intense and refined aromas.

In the glass, it appears bright, with straw-yellow reflections tending towards green, anticipating a fragrant and harmonious bouquet where delicate floral notes, fresh citrus, and light hints of alpine aromatic herbs unfold. The taste is elegant and fresh, supported by vibrant acidity and a balanced structure, which confer liveliness and long gustatory persistence.

The Blanc de Castel pairs gracefully with delicate fish dishes, vegetable carpaccios, and fresh cheeses, enhancing the lightness and aromaticity of the foods without overpowering them. A wine that invites you to discover the oenological potential of a mountainous area that is unconventional but full of charm.

Winery history
The Castel/Schloss Englar complex is a medieval settlement first mentioned in documents from 1256; the present late‑Gothic building developed from the 15th century and the property has been linked for centuries to the Counts Khuen‑Belasi. In recent decades the manor has been restored and also converted for hospitality use; wine production was revived and, since 2014, winemaking has again been carried out and bottled on site.
Production philosophy
The winery focuses on estate-grown grapes, organic vineyard management and the preservation of biodiversity. In the cellar, careful winemaking practices are preferred to produce clean wines characteristic of the area, with extended aging in wood and respect for maturation on the lees when necessary.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in San Michele di Appiano, the estate stands on a south-facing terraced hill with an almost Mediterranean influence. The area benefits from ample sunshine and soils well suited to alpine and international varieties.
Awards and recognitions
Wine ratings reported by specialist magazines, with scores for various reserve wines reaching up to around 93/100 for labels such as Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir Reserve; numerous labels reviewed with scores in the 91–93/100 range.
