This Cabernet-Merlot Alto Adige DOC from Kaltern is a restrained blend that reflects the balance between the two indicated varieties. It shows a ruby-red colour with lively highlights; on the nose there are scents of red and dark fruits, subtle herbaceous notes and light spicy touches that do not dominate. The palate is straightforward, with present but modest tannins and acidity that supports the drinking without being intrusive, giving an overall sense of cleanliness and pleasantness.

Suitable for everyday consumption but also to accompany dishes of the local cuisine, it pairs well with roasted or grilled meats, mushroom-based preparations and medium-aged cheeses. It is best served cool but not cold, around 16–18 °C; if preferred, a short decanting in a carafe can harmonise the aromas. At the table it proves discreet and versatile, for those seeking a balanced red without excesses.
