Albert Pic's "Chablis Pic Premier 262nd Harvest" cuvée represents a tribute to the long and illustrious winemaking history of the Pic family in Burgundy, particularly in the prestigious Chablis region. This wine marks the family's 262nd harvest, a remarkable achievement that testifies to the experience, dedication and continuity in producing wines of exceptional quality.

Albert Pic was one of the pioneers in the production of Chablis and his name is closely associated with the promotion and celebration of this unique expression of Chardonnay. The "Chablis Pic Premier" is not only a tribute to tradition, but also a demonstration of the skill of Albert Pic and his successors in capturing the essence of the Chablis terroir.

This particular Chablis is characterized by its provenance from carefully selected vineyards, where the limestone soil and cool climate of the region allow the Chardonnay grape to fully express its potential. Winemaking is aimed at enhancing the natural characteristics of the fruit, with an emphasis on the purity, minerality and freshness that are the hallmark of the best Chablis wines.

While I don't have specific details about the vintage or tasting profile of the "262nd Harvest," it's reasonable to expect this wine to reflect the qualities that have made Chablis famous around the world. Typically, a Chablis of this prestigious origin will offer the nose notes of citrus, white flowers, and a marked minerality reminiscent of wet stone or chalk. These characteristics are accompanied by a subtle aromatic complexity that can include nuances of green apple, pear and sometimes hints of vanilla or light spices, resulting from a wise use of wood.

In the mouth, the wine should express an impeccable balance between aromatic richness and acidic structure, with a penetrating minerality that gives depth and persistence to the palate. The texture is usually elegant and refined, with a long and clean finish that leaves a sensation of freshness and purity.

The "Chablis Pic Premier 262nd Harvest" is a wine that works beautifully as an aperitif or paired with a variety of delicate dishes, including seafood, oysters, steamed fish and fresh goat's cheeses.

Celebrating over two and a half centuries of winemaking tradition, this cuvée is an authentic expression of the passion and excellence that Albert Pic has dedicated to the world of Chablis, offering wine lovers a tasting experience that is both a journey through time and an exploration of the timeless qualities of Chablis.

Winery history
Albert Pic & Fils is one of the oldest houses in Chablis; many commercial and technical sheets record the year of foundation as 1755. The estate was acquired and relaunched by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, who began a programme to modernize the winery.
Production philosophy
The production style aims to express the purity and minerality typical of Chablis: controlled fermentations and aging that favors bottle maturation rather than heavy use of wood, to preserve the expressiveness of the terroir and of the Chardonnay.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate's vineyards are located in the Chablis area, on Kimmeridgian soils rich in fossils and marls that contribute to the wines' characteristic salinity and minerality. The climate is typically continental.
