Winery history
The family's story begins with Henri Sélèque, who immigrated to France from Poland. The first vineyard plantings date back to the 1960s and the first bottles were released in the late 1960s. The next generation, under Richard, modernized the estate. Jean‑Marc Sélèque returned to the property in 2008 and, together with his wife, built a new winery in Pierry in 2015.
Production philosophy
Terroir-driven approach: viticulture that respects soil life, strong reliance on manual labor, sustainable practices and low‑intervention winemaking. In the cellar, separate fermentations and aging are favored for individual parcels and different vessels, with minimal fining/filtration and extended aging to preserve the terroir’s expressiveness.
Terroir and vineyards
Based in Pierry, in the Vallée de la Marne — Coteaux Sud d’Épernay. The vineyards are spread over 45 parcels across Pierry, Moussy, Épernay, Dizy, Mardeuil, Boursault and Vertus, on limestone- and clay-based soils with the characteristic presence of flint and pebbles.
