This Chianti Classico DOCG from Tenuta Pèppoli, offered by Marchesi Antinori in magnum format and presented in a wooden case, is a sober, measured example of the appellation. It comes across as a red wine suited to convivial occasions: a bouquet recalling ripe red fruits, light spicy notes and a discreet floral profile. The magnum format enhances the perception of roundness, making it suitable for sharing a bottle with company or marking a special moment without excess.

On the palate it shows balance between fruit and structure, with smooth tannins and a texture that does not seek to dominate. It pairs well with dishes of the local and Mediterranean tradition: grilled meats, ragù, semi-firm cheeses and mushroom-based preparations. Serve at about 16–18 °C; opening the bottle a few minutes in advance helps aromatic expression. The wooden case eases storage at home and also makes it an elegant, unfussy gift.
