Il Greco di Tufo di Villa Raiano è un vino bianco ottenuto esclusivamente da uve Greco, coltivate in alta collina e raccolte a mano nel pieno della loro maturazione. I grappoli, selezionati con cura, vengono sistemati in piccole cassette per evitare lo schiacciamento degli acini e preservare l’integrità dell’uva fino al momento della pressatura. In cantina, le uve vengono lavorate intere con una pressatura soffice che consente di estrarre solo il mosto fiore, la parte più pura e fine. La fermentazione e l’affinamento avvengono interamente in acciaio inox, dove il vino riposa sulle fecce fini per acquisire complessità e struttura.

Nel calice si presenta di un giallo paglierino intenso e luminoso. Al naso rivela un bouquet elegante e distintivo, con note di mela verde, gelsomino, cedro e miele selvatico, arricchite da tocchi minerali e mentolati che ne sottolineano l’origine d’altura. Con il passare del tempo, i profumi primari lasciano spazio a suggestioni più evolute di idrocarburi, che donano al vino una personalità ancora più affascinante.

Al palato risulta pieno, fresco e armonioso, con una spiccata sapidità che accompagna un finale lungo e persistente. Perfetto in abbinamento a risotti, carni bianche e piatti a base di pesce o carni affumicate; dopo qualche anno di affinamento, si esprime splendidamente anche accanto a formaggi erborinati.

Winery history
Villa Raiano was established in 1996 in the former facilities of the Basso family’s olive oil mill in the hamlet of Raiano. The current winery, a modern facility integrated into the landscape, was built in 2009 on a hill in the area of San Michele di Serino and serves as the estate’s operational hub.
Production philosophy
Showcasing the territory and Irpinia's indigenous varieties, the estate works to convey the landscape and the soil-and-climate differences of each vineyard, offering ranges that reflect the identity of individual plots and prioritizing organic farming practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Irpinia: vineyards spread across several municipalities and elevations that influence microclimates and soils; the winery overlooks the valley of the Sabato River and the surrounding hills, and produces wines in the main denominations of the province of Avellino.
