Il Taurasi della cantina Villa Raiano è ottenuto esclusivamente da uve Aglianico coltivate nel vigneto di Castelfranci, in provincia di Avellino, a 550 metri sul livello del mare. I grappoli vengono raccolti a mano e trasportati in cantina in piccole cassette, per preservarne l’integrità e garantire la massima qualità. Dopo la fermentazione, il vino affina in botti di rovere di diverse capacità per circa 12 mesi, prosegue la maturazione in acciaio per ulteriori 12 mesi e completa il suo percorso di affinamento in bottiglia per altri 12 mesi.

Il vino si presenta con un colore rosso rubino intenso impreziosito da sfumature granato. Al naso è elegante e complesso, con note di frutta rossa come gelso e mora, accompagnate da sentori di mirto, china, cacao amaro, tabacco e una fresca nota mentolata. L’apporto del legno è perfettamente integrato, senza sovrastare la raffinata struttura aromatica.

Al palato rivela una morbidezza tannica e una freschezza equilibrata, caratteristiche che ne definiscono lo stile e ne garantiscono un potenziale di invecchiamento straordinario.

Perfetto con salumi affumicati e piatti di cacciagione, ideale per chi ama vini di grande struttura e longevità.

Winery history
Villa Raiano was established in 1996 in the former facilities of the Basso family’s olive oil mill in the hamlet of Raiano. The current winery, a modern facility integrated into the landscape, was built in 2009 on a hill in the area of San Michele di Serino and serves as the estate’s operational hub.
Production philosophy
Showcasing the territory and Irpinia's indigenous varieties, the estate works to convey the landscape and the soil-and-climate differences of each vineyard, offering ranges that reflect the identity of individual plots and prioritizing organic farming practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Irpinia: vineyards spread across several municipalities and elevations that influence microclimates and soils; the winery overlooks the valley of the Sabato River and the surrounding hills, and produces wines in the main denominations of the province of Avellino.
