The Lagrein Steinraffler from Tenuta J Hofstatter, Alto Adige DOC, shows an intense and authentic aromatic profile. Deep ruby with violet hues, it opens with notes of dark berries, plum and ripe cherry, with subtle floral hints of violet and a touch of sweet spice and cocoa in the background. On the palate it displays full body and structure, noticeable but ripe tannins, lively acidity that balances the substance, and a tannic texture that supports the sip through to a pleasantly fruity finish.

It pairs naturally with roasted meats, braised dishes, game and Alpine traditional recipes, as well as aged cheeses or mushroom-based dishes. A short aeration or decanting is recommended to encourage aroma development; serving temperature around 16–18 °C. A wine suited to hearty meals and those seeking a pronounced yet well-balanced red.
