The wine "Le Sabbie dell'Etna" Rosato, produced by the renowned Firriato winery, is a true expression of the volcanic terroir of Sicily. This wine is crafted primarily from Nerello Mascalese grapes, an indigenous variety from the Etna region, with subtle nuances added through the integration of Nerello Cappuccio plants.

The color of this rosé is a delicate pale pink reminiscent of the petals of a freshly bloomed rose. On the nose, it offers an intensely aromatic bouquet, intertwining notes of fresh red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, along with slight floral undertones. The contact with the volcanic soil enriches the wine with a very distinctive mineral complexity, typical of the Etnean terrain.

On the palate, "Le Sabbie dell'Etna" Rosato reveals itself to be fresh and balanced. The acidity is well-balanced and contributes to a pleasantly persistent sip, leaving behind hints of mature red fruit and an elegant mineral aftertaste. Its structure is refined and well-defined, making it an ideal companion for a variety of dishes, from Mediterranean cuisine to fish dishes, as well as light appetizers and aromatic salads.

Producing wines on volcanic soil is a challenge that Firriato embraces with enthusiasm, managing to capture the essence of Etna in every bottle. Every sip of this rosé is a tribute to the powerful nature of Etna and its indomitable beauty. An excellent choice for those who wish to explore the typicality of high-quality rosé wines produced in unique environments.

Winery history
Founded as a family project by Salvatore Di Gaetano in the 1980s, Firriato has grown by expanding its presence across multiple estates in Sicily and bringing the island’s wines to international markets. The family has remained actively involved in technical supervision and brand development, over time establishing estates dedicated to production, ampelographic research and hospitality.
Production philosophy
The winery pursues an approach focused on respect for the land: careful selection of soils, promotion of local grape varieties and sustainability-focused agricultural management. Firriato declares the conversion of its vineyards to organic farming and has undertaken initiatives to offset and reduce the company's climate footprint.
Terroir and vineyards
The company's holdings are distributed across several estates that represent different terroirs: the hills of the Agro Trapanese, the slopes of Mount Etna and the maritime viticulture of the island of Favignana. The individual estates mentioned in the sources include Baglio Sorìa, Borgo Guarini, Dàgala Borromeo, Pianoro Cuddìa, Giudeo, Cavanera Etnea and Tenuta di Calamoni in Favignana.
