The Rosso Bologna DOC from Camerlot, produced by La Riva, is a distinctive red wine, representative of the winemaking heritage of the Bologna area. This wine, nestled within the prestigious DOC appellation, is the result of a masterful blend of native grape varieties that elevate the local terroir in every sip.

Visually, Camerlot's Rosso Bologna presents with an intense ruby red color, tending towards garnet nuances as it ages. The nose promptly reveals notes of ripe red fruits like cherry and plum, enriched by spicy accents reminiscent of vanilla and licorice, derived from a light passage in barriques that adds complexity and structure to the wine.

On the palate, the wine is generously full-bodied, with an enticing and well-balanced entry. The acidity and tannins are harmoniously integrated, making the sip pleasantly persistent. This Rosso Bologna DOC offers an excellent balance between vigor and elegance, with a long finish that leaves room for fruity and slightly spicy aftertastes.

Perfect for pairing with dishes from the Emilian cuisine, such as tagliatelle al ragù or lasagna, it also excels with red meats and aged cheeses. It is recommended to serve this wine at around 18°C (64°F), which will allow it to express all its aromatic nuances.

Camerlot - La Riva has crafted this Rosso Bologna DOC as a tribute to the rich soil and ideal climate of this historic wine region, offering a wine that is both a pleasure for the palate and a sensory journey into Bolognese tradition.

Winery history
Tenuta La Riva was founded as a family project, driven by Alberto's passion and the tradition of several generations. The estate has grown steadily, focusing on bottle refermentation and the promotion of local grape varieties such as Pignoletto and Trebbiano Modenese, with the family involved in every stage from vineyard to cellar.
Production philosophy
The winery favors refermentation in bottle and a low-intervention winemaking approach: organic farming, low use of sulfites and techniques that respect the land and health. For sparkling wines they practice long periods of lees contact and perform disgorgements à la volée for low- or no-dosage wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate, located in the Colli Bolognesi at Castello di Serravalle, is surrounded by the characteristic calanchi of the Emilian Apennines and lies about half an hour from Bologna. It cultivates indigenous and international grape varieties suited to the hilly terrain.
