The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC by Santo Stefano, produced by the renowned Mucci winery, is an example of a red wine that enchants with its depth and complexity. This wine represents a perfect expression of the Abruzzo region, known for its ability to produce wines with great character and structure.

The selection of Montepulciano grapes, grown on the hills of Abruzzo, ideal locations for this varietal thanks to a unique microclimate that benefits from the influences of the Adriatic Sea and the protection offered by the Apennine mountains, gives this wine a distinctive aromatic profile. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo by Santo Stefano displays an intense ruby red color, with violet hints.

On the nose, it opens with vigorous notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, enriched by spicy nuances and a slight hint of vanilla, the result of a careful aging period in wood. On the palate, the wine surprises with its perfect balance between acidity and well-integrated tannins, which give it extraordinary drinkability. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, with a finish that leaves delicate aromas of licorice and tobacco.

This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC is ideal to pair with hearty dishes such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 18°C to fully appreciate its qualities.

The care in production and attention to detail make the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo by Santo Stefano - Mucci an excellent choice for lovers of structured and aromatic red wines, capable of offering a truly satisfying sensory experience.

Winery history
The Mucci family embodies a winemaking tradition dating back to the late 19th century: great-grandfather Luigi Mucci obtained a diploma in oenology in 1895, and the passion for the vine has been passed down ever since. In the 1980s, grandfather Valentino revived the family business, and in subsequent generations — today led by Aurelia and Valentino Mucci — the winery has expanded its range and markets while maintaining direct management of the vineyards.
Production philosophy
An approach based on family continuity, attentive vineyard care and a balance between tradition and innovation; the winery prefers to vinify its own grapes to highlight the character of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located on the hills of Torino di Sangro, within the Terre di Chieti area of the Abruzzo region.
Awards and recognitions
On its website the winery lists international awards, including Korea Wine Challenge, Japan Wine Challenge, Merano Wine Award and Selections Mondiales des Vins.
