The Nizza DOCG Barbera "Cipressi" from Chiarlo shows a vivid ruby color; a still red with no effervescence. On the nose it offers immediate fruity sensations of cherry and raspberry, accompanied by subtle spicy touches and light floral notes; there are also earthy hints that add complexity without becoming heavy. Medium-bodied, it displays a composed texture and good balance.

On the palate it shows a lively acidity typical of Barbera, supported by present but generally well-integrated tannins that provide structure without harshness. The finish is savory and of good persistence, with fruity returns and spicy nuances. It pairs with cured meats, pasta with ragù, meat dishes and medium-aged cheeses; also suitable for everyday meals. Serve at 16–18 °C and, if desired, allow it to breathe briefly before serving.
