The Pinot Grigio Collio DOC Riserva from Renato Keber offers an elegant, restrained profile: straw-yellow color with bright reflections, on the nose notes of ripe white fruit, light floral nuances and a hint of minerality typical of Collio soils. On the palate it shows body and tension, with balanced acidity that supports a saline texture and a persistent finish that invites another sip. It does not aim for excess, but provides discreet complexity and a good balance between freshness and structure, characteristics consistent with the “Riserva” designation.

It pairs well with more structured fish dishes, shellfish, light white meats and flavorful pasta or vegetable dishes, as well as fresh cheeses; it can also serve as a contemplative wine for those who prefer more compact whites. Serve chilled in a wide glass to appreciate the aromas. When purchasing, check the label of each vintage; the bottle expresses its best when enjoyed calmly within a few years.

Discover the story and wines of Renato Keber.

Family-run winery located in Zegla (Cormòns, Collio) specialising in Collio wines, including Pinot Grigio Collio DOC Riserva; traditional vinification and extended ageing on the lees.
Region: Friuli‑Venezia Giulia — Collio (Collio/Collio Goriziano DOC)
Country: Italy
Winery history
The Keber family settled in Zegla in the early 20th century: great-grandfather Franc arrived from Vipulzano in 1900. The estate is family-run across four generations and began exports to the USA in the 1990s.
Production philosophy
Focus on expressive, age-worthy wines; extended lees ageing in steel and selectively in wood. For some wines (e.g. Ribolla 'Extreme') traditional practices are used, such as open-cement maceration with indigenous yeasts and no temperature control.
Terroir and vineyards
Location Zegla, Cormòns (Collio). Collio: gently sloping south‑east hill near the Slovenian border; soils known as 'ponca' (middle Eocene marl and sandstone / Cormons flysch), highly suitable for viticulture.
