The Pinot Noir Valle d'Aosta DOC by La Crotta di Vegneron is a fine example of how this noble and complex vine can find its unique expression even in the Italian Alpine valleys. The La Crotta di Vegneron winery, located in the heart of the Aosta Valley, one of the smallest and most highly specialized regions in the production of quality wines in Italy, is committed to enhancing local and international vines by adapting them to the particular microclimate and soils of the region.

In Valle d'Aosta, Pinot Noir benefits from a terroir characterized by strong temperature variations between day and night and poor, stony soils, which contribute to concentrating the aromas in the grapes and developing notable acidity, key factors for the production of wines fresh, aromatic and with good aging potential. Cultivation at altitude also allows us to preserve the typical elegance and finesse of Pinot Noir.

Winemaking follows traditional practices, with the aim of enhancing the varietal characteristics of the vine and the expression of the Aosta Valley terroir. The Pinot Noir of La Crotta di Vegneron is fermented and matured in stainless steel containers or in barriques, depending on the oenological choices, to preserve the freshness of the fruit and add complexity to the wine without overloading it with woody notes.

At sight, Pinot Noir Valle d'Aosta DOC has a translucent ruby red color, typical of the vine. On the nose, the wine offers a rich and delicate bouquet at the same time, with notes of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, enriched by floral nuances and a light spicy touch, which reflect the aromatic complexity obtained thanks to the particular location of the vineyards.

In the mouth, the wine shows an elegant structure, with fine tannins and a lively acidity that supports its freshness and drinkability. The flavors of fresh red fruit are balanced by a subtle minerality and spicy notes, confirming the harmony and cleanliness perceived on the nose, and leading to a long and pleasantly persistent finish.

Ideal in combination with delicate meat dishes, poultry, not too elaborate red meats and medium-aged cheeses, the Pinot Noir Valle d'Aosta DOC by La Crotta di Vegneron is also an excellent meditation wine, which invites you to explore the richness and the variety of expressions of this vine, enriched by the particularity of the Aosta Valley terroir.
