More questions

Primitivo DOP Gioia del Colle Marpione Riserva - Tenuta Viglione is born in the evocative Apulian area of Gioia del Colle, famous for the production of intense and structured red wines. The Primitivo grape variety, the undisputed protagonist of this territory, expresses in this Riserva all its power and aromatic complexity thanks to a careful aging process, which includes a long period in wooden barrels.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red color, accompanied by enveloping aromas of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and light balsamic notes that give elegance and depth. The sip is full, velvety, and well balanced, with soft tannins that support a long and persistent finish.

Perfect to accompany roasted meats or aged cheeses, this wine enhances the robust flavors of traditional Apulian cuisine, making every tasting moment an unforgettable experience.

The story
Family history rooted in the Murgia: the estate is a multi-generational family business with records of activity dating back to 1937. In recent decades the family has renovated the farmhouse and modernized the vineyards and cellar, while maintaining a strong connection to local tradition.
Production philosophy
An "unhurried" approach: organic cultivation, respect for natural rhythms and attention to environmental sustainability. The estate implements practices to reduce operational impact and highlights the native varieties of the Murgia.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated in the Alta Murgia between Santeramo in Colle and the Gioia del Colle area, on calcareous-clay soils and well-ventilated hills. The estate takes advantage of the area's high elevations, conditions that promote freshness and minerality in the grapes.
