Primitivo Salento IGT - Orion - Masseria Li Veli 2024

Deep red with violet reflections, it opens on a direct and pleasant aromatic bouquet: ripe red fruit, plum and cherry combine with light notes of jam and a subtle spicy thread. There is also a touch of Mediterranean herbaceousness that adds freshness to the picture. On the palate it is full and enveloping, with a tannic structure that is present but smooth and an acidity that supports the fruit without weighing it down; the profile is warm yet balanced, with a persistence that recalls the fruit and a hint of pepper on the finish.

It pairs naturally with savory dishes: roasts, meat ragù, game and hard cheeses, but also stands up well to traditional Apulian preparations based on tomato and peppers. Serve slightly cool, around 16–18 °C, and it can gain from a short period of aeration before being uncorked. Ideal for convivial dinners when you’re looking for a characterful red that can support the dish without overpowering it.
