Advice to enjoy this wine at its best.

Let’s talk about Rosè Franciacorta DOCG - Tenuta Montenisa - Marchese Antinori

More questions

Delicate pink with fine, persistent perlage that invites the first sip. On the nose it opens with fresh small red berries and rose petals, with a citrus hint that keeps the profile slim and luminous.

On the palate it confirms good balance, with a lively entry, a salinity that supports the sip and a discreet softness that softens its fresher edges; the finish is pleasant and leaves fruity memories and a slight sensation of creamy softness. Versatile and immediately appealing, it suits both an aperitif and more structured pairings: raw fish and fish tartare, sushi, seafood starters and fresh cheeses marry well with its savory tone; it also surprises with delicately prepared white meat dishes. Serve chilled, in glasses that are not too large, to enjoy the freshness and the perlage without overpowering its elegance.

The winery

Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Marchesi Antinori)

Tuscany — Bolgheri (Province of Livorno), Upper MaremmaItalySince 1385

Estate of Marchesi Antinori in the Bolgheri DOC (Upper Maremma, Province of Livorno). The estate covers large areas (about 1000 ha total, ~320 ha planted with vines) and produces white and red wines including the Vermentino Bolgheri DOC and the Guado al Tasso reds.
Grape varieties
Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
  • Marchese Antinori: Chianti Classico Riserva produced with grapes from Tenuta Tignanello since 2011.
  • Tenuta Tignanello: covers approximately 319 hectares, with a significant portion devoted to vineyards.
  • Wines predominantly Sangiovese, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the historic parcels.
  • Marchesi Antinori: a centuries-old winemaking family with an international presence and multiple estates in Italy and abroad.
  • Recent award/recognition: Marchesi Antinori ranked first in 'The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands' 2023, according to industry sources.
The story
The estate’s winemaking origins are linked to the noble Della Gherardesca family (vineyards since the late 17th century). The property entered the Antinori holdings in the 1930s; the estate’s modern winemaking development took place from the late 1980s–1990s. First documented vintage of Vermentino at the estate: 1996.
Production philosophy
To express the Bolgheri terroir through parcel selection, experimentation in the vineyard and cellar, and practices focused on quality and respect for the territory.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the Bolgheri DOC (Upper Maremma) on a plain encircled by gentle hills known as the “Bolgheri Amphitheatre.” Climate is moderated by sea breezes; alluvial soils range from sandy-clay to silty-clay with fine gravel (Bolgheri agglomerate), influencing the character of varieties grown (Cabernet, Merlot, Vermentino, etc.).
Awards and recognition
Awards and recognitions for the Antinori group and brand: among examples cited online, Marchesi Antinori was named "The World's Most Admired Wine Brand", and the family/company has received various awards and recognitions over the years.
