The Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva DOC MAGNUM from the Balia di Zola winery embodies the essence of a deeply rooted winemaking tradition in the hills of Romagna. This wine is exclusively made from hand-selected Sangiovese grapes sourced from old vines that ensure a low yield per hectare, enhancing the concentration of aromas and flavors in the wine.

The winemaking process follows traditional methods updated with the most modern cellar techniques. After harvesting, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation, followed by a long maceration period to extract the maximum amount of polyphenols and aromatic substances. The wine then ages in oak barrels for at least 12 months, during which it develops complexity, structure, and an elegant balance between soft tannins and lively acidity.

The Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva is presented in a MAGNUM bottle, making it particularly suited for aging or as the centerpiece on special occasions. Its color is a deep ruby red with garnet reflections that intensify with aging. On the nose, it offers a rich and persistent bouquet with notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and a light hint of vanilla and leather, a result of the aging in wood.

On the palate, the wine is robust yet harmonious, with a nice freshness that balances its structure and alcohol content. The finish is long and pleasantly tannic, with an aftertaste of red fruit and spices that invites another sip.

Ideal to accompany hearty Italian dishes such as roasts, game, and aged cheeses, the Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva DOC MAGNUM from Balia di Zola is a quintessentially classic choice for those wanting to savor the authentic soul of Sangiovese in one of its most elevated expressions.
