The harvest begins in early October when the grapes reach the ideal degree of ripeness. The harvest is done manually, as in the past.
Subsequently the grains are separated from the stalks, and then macerate in the press for 8 hours. The delicate pressing and natural clarification of the must follows. Fermentation takes place in steel at 18 ° C. Before bottling, which usually takes place in May, maturation takes place for 6 months on the fine lees.
In the glass, Kerner has a pale straw yellow color with green reflections.
On the nose it releases fragrant notes reminiscent of peaches, elder flowers and citrus fruits.
In the mouth, its structure is immediately very complex, characterized by lively acidity and salty minerality.
At the table it goes very well with aperitifs, fish-based dishes and sushi, but it is also an excellent combination with light pasta dishes, risottos and colorful salads.
