The Valtellina Superiore DOCG "Prugnolo" by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi is an authentic and refined expression of Nebbiolo, a grape variety known locally as Chiavennasca, grown in the picturesque mountain valleys of Valtellina, in Lombardy. This region is famous for its elegant and structured red wines, produced on terraces that require intensive care and manual labor. Casa Vinicola Rainoldi, one of the most historic and respected wineries in the area, has been able to masterfully interpret the potential of this terroir, offering with "Prugnolo" a wine that is both powerful and endowed with remarkable finesse.

The selection of Nebbiolo grapes for "Prugnolo" takes place in vineyards located in the best plots, where the exposure and microclimate favor optimal maturation. Winemaking is carefully managed to preserve the varietal characteristics and expression of the soil, with prolonged maceration that allows the extraction of elegant tannins and a deep aromatic intensity. The refinement in wood, an integral part of the production process, enriches the wine with complexity, contributing to its harmonious development.

Visually, the "Prugnolo" presents itself with a brilliant ruby red color, with garnet reflections that become accentuated with the evolution of time. On the nose, the wine unfolds a rich and varied bouquet, characterized by notes of small red fruits, violets, spices and a light mineral vein, which reflects the particularity of the Valtellina terroir. These aromas are intertwined with nuances of leather, tobacco and balsamic hints, the result of the elegant maturation in wooden barrels.

In the mouth, Rainoldi's Valtellina Superiore DOCG "Prugnolo" reveals a remarkable structure, supported by fine tannins and a well-balanced acidity, which gives freshness and length to the sip. The red fruit flavors blend with earthy and spicy notes, leading to a persistent and aromatically rich finish, which leaves a pleasant sensation of elegance and complexity.

Ideal in combination with red meats, game-based dishes, mature cheeses and traditional dishes of Lombardy cuisine, "Prugnolo" is an excellent choice for lovers of structured and aromatically complex wines, who seek the most authentic expression in a glass and refined from Valtellina.
