Winery history Domaine Arlaud

The property originated from the union of the Arlaud and Amiot families and developed over time through targeted acquisitions and family management across generations. The family consolidated its presence in the Côte de Nuits by preserving a historic 14th-century cellar for ageing, and with the generational transition to Cyprien Arlaud the estate has grown to include numerous local appellations and Grand Cru parcels.

Production philosophy

The estate has progressively reduced chemical treatments and has adopted organic and biodynamic farming practices to enhance the expression of each individual terroir. In the vineyard, manual and natural interventions are favored; in the cellar, fermentation is encouraged by native yeasts, with controlled pressings and bottling without fining or filtration to preserve the wine’s identity.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are situated in the Côte de Nuits around Morey‑Saint‑Denis and in neighbouring communes, with parcels that also include Grand Cru sites. These soils—ranging from clay and marl to the area's characteristic limestone—contribute to the stylistic diversity of the domaine's cuvées.
