Agave De Abel Benitez Las Canoas is an agave distillate from the South of Jalisco that carries a direct and sincere personality. On the nose it offers clean notes of fresh grass and citrus peel, with a slightly mineral underpinning that gives it lift. The profile is overall dry but balanced, with a sensation of smoothness that softens the alcoholic warmth; don’t look for aromatic artifice — here a territorial frankness prevails that highlights the agave’s character.

On the palate it is substantial: it builds body with a soft entry, a savory texture and a decent persistence that invites a second sip. The finish is clean and dry, suited to those looking for an agave spirit to drink neat or in simple cocktails that leave room for the product. Serve slightly chilled; it pairs well with grilled fish dishes, ceviche or savory tapas, but it also stands up to more flavorful pairings thanks to its structure. 70 cl bottle, convenient for tasting and sharing.

Discover the spirits, production style and story of Vecinidad.

Vecindad is a project/brand curated by Destilería Santa Sabia (Guadalajara) that gathers and bottles agave distillates (raicilla, tequila and other agave spirits) and some expressions of aguardiente/rum. The range showcases local maguey varieties from Jalisco (with some cuvées also from Nayarit and Colima) and many bottles are tied to local producers or farming families.

Distillation

Double distillation for many artisanal expressions; use of traditional stills (copper, wood, ceramic) for some cuvées; for certain project tequilas fermentation in stainless steel/autoclave and column distillation are used.

Ageing

Variable: many raicillas and agave spirits are presented very young (unaged); some reposado-style references or selected distillates receive a short wood maturation.

Raw materials

agave (various varieties: Lineño, Papalote, Maguey Alto, Tobalá mentioned on the product sheets) sugarcane (for aguardiente / cane spirit)
