The Bianco IGT "Nekaj" by Damijan Podversic shows a clear appearance and a luminous straw color with greenish reflections. On the nose it offers a fragrant, inviting profile, with notes of white flowers, white-fleshed fruit and citrus hints, accompanied by light herbal sensations. The aromatic texture is clean and precise, without excess, revealing a personal yet measured character. There is a balance between immediacy and complexity that encourages attentive tasting.

On the palate it is balanced and easy to drink: freshness, supported by acidity, is balanced by a light salinity that provides drive and lightness. The body is moderate, the texture fine, with a persistent but unobtrusive finish. It works well as an aperitif wine and with seafood starters, lightly seasoned fish dishes, grilled vegetables or fresh cheeses. Serve cool but not icy to best appreciate its aromas and depth.

Discover the story and wines of Damijan Podversic.

Artisanal producer in Collio Goriziano (Gorizia), known for skin-contact white wines — notably Istrian Malvasia — produced with nature‑respecting practices.
Region: Friuli‑Venezia Giulia — Collio Goriziano
Country: Italy
Winery history
Damijan Podversic began restoring abandoned vineyards on Monte Calvario in 1988; he started bottling under his own name in the late 1990s (first commercial bottlings from 1998). Influenced by Josko Gravner, he became noted for his skin‑contact white wines.
Production philosophy
Viticulture and winemaking focused on respect for nature: low yields, selective harvesting (green harvest), indigenous‑yeast fermentations and long skin macerations; extended ageing in large oak casks. Some sources report organic certification.
Terroir and vineyards
Collio Goriziano (Monte Calvario, near Gorizia). Soils: Ponca/Opoka (marl/sandstone). Exposure: south. Altitude given for the Malvasia: 110–140 m a.s.l. Vineyards cited for the Malvasia: Gradiscutta (since 1991) and Monte Calvario (since 2003).
