This Malvasia IGT from Damijan Podversic offers a sober, recognizable profile: it shows a luminous straw color with slight green highlights. On the nose it develops floral notes and white‑fleshed fruit, with hints of aromatic herbs and moderate mineral touches. The aromatic bouquet is gentle, not extreme, leaving room for a simple complexity that invites tasting.

On the palate the wine displays controlled freshness and a saline thread that supports the sip without weighing it down. Light to medium body, balance between acidity and softness, clean and moderately persistent finish. It pairs with seafood and light preparations, vegetables, antipasti and fresh cheeses; best served cool but not cold. As this is a general description, we recommend evaluating each bottle individually: sensory characteristics and intensity may vary depending on storage conditions and the vintage. To appreciate the subtleties, open the bottle shortly before service and use a tulip glass.

Discover the story and wines of Damijan Podversic.

Artisanal producer in Collio Goriziano (Gorizia), known for skin-contact white wines — notably Istrian Malvasia — produced with nature‑respecting practices.
Region: Friuli‑Venezia Giulia — Collio Goriziano
Country: Italy
Winery history
Damijan Podversic began restoring abandoned vineyards on Monte Calvario in 1988; he started bottling under his own name in the late 1990s (first commercial bottlings from 1998). Influenced by Josko Gravner, he became noted for his skin‑contact white wines.
Production philosophy
Viticulture and winemaking focused on respect for nature: low yields, selective harvesting (green harvest), indigenous‑yeast fermentations and long skin macerations; extended ageing in large oak casks. Some sources report organic certification.
