This Carignano del Sulcis Riserva from Mesa, presented in magnum format with the evocative Buio Buio label, offers an intense yet measured profile. On the nose it opens with ripe black fruit — plum and sour cherry — accompanied by Mediterranean scrub aromas and a sweet spice that never overpowers. The palate is full and substantial: tannins are clearly present but smooth, acidity supports the structure, and a saline thread lengthens the finish, maintaining elegance and good persistence that invites a second taste.

At the table it calls for equally decisive dishes: roasts, braises, game or aged cheeses will find an ideal partner. The magnum format promotes more harmonious maturation and makes the bottle perfect for convivial occasions or for those who wish to let the wine evolve for a few years in the cellar; it also keeps its balance with tomato-based dishes, mushrooms and savory ingredients. Serve at around 16–18°C and allow a short aeration before tasting to better appreciate its depth, drinkability and complexity.
